Is it just me, or are buns becoming the new manly, manly look? It seems that everywhere I look, guys are putting their hair up in a bun on their head. Pony tails are history, go home if you ain’t got the buns, HUN!! Sorry, couldn’t resist. But, it is true. I watched a Radiohead concert of their new album and the singer had his hair up in a bun, too.
This picture was a hit or miss with this one. I wasn’t sure if he was going to let me take his picture, because if you notice, he has a camera, as well. He also looked like he was in a bad mood. I don’t know, maybe it was the black leather jacket that he was wearing that made him seem off-putting. For whatever reason, I wanted this shot because it was almost like hunting. You kind of sneak up the back, nonchalantly, an try to get as close to him as possible without him hearing the shutter button. I know that I have a quiet shutter mode on my camera, but that takes the skill, and the thrill of the hunt out of it. In my head, I said that last sentence like a professional wrestler. And now, as I type this, I am saying it out loud as a professional wrestler.
The point of all of this is, that I feel as if we are seeing a fashion statement for men. It is a way for them to say, “hey, I have a side of me that says I am comfortable in my own sexuality.” “And the social mores of the past, no longer apply to me because I am willing to put my hair up in buns.” I am saying that out loud as a professional wrestler now, too. I can’t decide between the two of those last statements are more manly sounding in my head.
