Cut 21
I think about the first drink I had when I turned 21. Of course, I had already tried drinking before then, but I had always been enamored by drinking. I always preferred grass. BTW, I say grass because I am old and weed sounds negative.
I woke up that morning feeling no different than the day before. I thought, what’s the big deal? Why do people care? So I went downstairs at 10 am and opened up a beer at my mom’s house in Pawley’s Island. It was a Coors Light. Probably the last Coors Light I ever drank. Formaldehyde is not my thing. I remember telling my mom at dinner. She said that I needed to be careful about that kind of thing, at which point I reminded her I wasn’t even having a drink at dinner.
